1. About EBD Group and this Privacy Policy
a) In this Privacy Policy, "EBD" refers interchangeably and independently to European Business Development Group, Inc. and EBD Group AG. These independent companies organize events or provide services in the USA and Europe respectively (and a few other territories around the world).
b) This Privacy Policy explains the way in which EBD handles data it holds concerning you and your company. Our aim is to reassure you that we handle your data professionally and with due regard to your desire to maintain privacy and, of course, in line with prevailing legislation in the territories in which EBD products and services are promoted or used.
c) As this Privacy Policy covers a number of different products and services of EBD, some sections may not be relevant to you.

2. Information collection
Information on yourself and/or your company ("User Information") is submitted to EBD when you (a "Registered User") register, to purchase or use products or services available from EBD.

3. Use of Information
a) EBD does not sell, share, or rent User Information to third parties other than as disclosed in this Privacy Policy. Any use of User Information not disclosed in this Privacy Policy will only be made with your permission.
b) By registering to use or receive an EBD product or service you agree that EBD may contact you by post, telephone, email or fax to keep you updated on arrangements being made for the product or service for which you have registered.
c) EBD needs to use data in a manner reasonably required to operate its services and products. For example, if you become a Registered User by registering for an event, submitting User Information to partneringONE, or by becoming a member of partnering360 you agree that your User Information can be reproduced, replicated, published, displayed, disseminated, and downloaded and printed for personal use by all other Registered Users of that event or product. Selected clients can also export data on licensing opportunities from multiple events to facilitate their in-house evaluation and management. However will we not disclose your email address or direct telephone number in connection with any product other than as disclosed in this Privacy Policy unless you select this option yourself.
d) You also agree that EBD can display certain limited data on publicly accessible pages of our websites, such as your job function, company, country, a company profile copied or abstracted from company data you have provided, and an indication that you attended and that your company was represented at certain specified events.
e) If you have registered for an event run by a third party (for example, at which EBD is providing only the partnering service) you agree that EBD can disclose your User Information to that third party. You should satisfy yourself that such a third party handles your User Information in an appropriate way, as their agreement with you is independent of EBD's.
f) The EBD event BIO-Europe is produced in collaboration with the US trade association the Biotechnology Industry Association (BIO). EBD is contractually bound to share with BIO your first and last name, company name and title, email address, mailing address, and telephone number that you submitted when registering for the BIO-Europe conference. If you do not wish this information to be disclosed to BIO, please inform EBD using any of the methods listed below.

4. Usage information
In your use of EBD products, you will generate "Usage Information". This includes your messages, participants of meetings, and information on how you use the products.
a) Information on how you use EBD products will be stored, but will only ever be disclosed by EBD in aggregate form and no specific business relationships will be identifiable.
b) Messages you send and receive on partneringONE, and the identity of meeting participants, are the property of your company and are potentially visible to all of your colleagues and the companies you have communicated with.
c) Messages you send and receive on partnering360 are personal to you and are not shared with your colleagues.

Messages and meeting participants are never disclosed by EBD.

5. Opting out
If you no longer wish to receive our promotional communications, you may opt-out of receiving them by following the instructions included in each communication, or by contacting EBD using any of the methods listed below.

All or some of your User Information will be retained in order to facilitate your future use of EBD's services or products. If your User Information is incorrect or changes, you may be able to correct or update parts of it using edit profile functions. Alternatively, or if you no longer wish for EBD to retain User Information, please contact EBD by any of the methods listed below.

You will be notified if EBD intends to use your User Information in any way not covered by this Privacy Policy, so that you can make an informed choice about opting out.

7. Photographs and video
EBD or EBD's agents take photographs and videos ("Images") of typical scenes of EBD events and event-related functions, some of which may feature identifiable attendees going about their business. These Images are frequently available for view on EBD websites, or may be used in marketing material. EBD will never use without your express permission Images of you that clearly suggest a specific business interaction, or are frivolous in nature.

8. Security
EBD takes your data privacy rights very seriously and takes reasonable precautions to protect User Information. Only certain individuals within the company are given degrees of access to Registered Users' Information according to job function and necessity. Because of EBD's international operations, your User Information may be exported to countries with weaker data protection laws. However, EBD Group takes appropriate steps to protect your data and ensures that it is never released without your consent.

EBD follows generally accepted industry standards to protect User Information, both during transmission and once it is received. No method of transmission over the internet, or method of electronic storage, is 100% secure, however. Therefore, while EBD strives to use commercially acceptable means to protect your User Information, its absolute security cannot be guaranteed.

9. Use of cookies
A cookie is a small file that is stored on a computer for record-keeping purposes. Like many internet sites, EBD asks you to accept cookies that enhance the way your computer interacts with our websites. If your browser is set to reject cookies, your ability to use the websites and thereby access our products and services may be limited. 10. Legal disclaimer
EBD may disclose your User Information when required by law or in the good faith belief that such action is necessary in order to conform to the edicts of the law or to comply with a legal process.

11. Notification of changes
Please check this Privacy Policy periodically to inform yourself of any changes. Although we reserve the right to modify or supplement this Privacy Policy, EBD will provide notice to you on EBD websites of any major changes for at least 30 days following the change.
